The Most Hated Starcraft 2 Strategy,The Zerg Rush

The Most Hated Starcraft 2 Strategy, The Zerg Rush
By Jay Holbrook

The Zerg rush is one of the fastest ways to end a game of Starcraft 2. Build a small tactical force of zerglings and rush your enemies base to catch them with their pants down. Not only the fastest way to victory but the fastest way to infamy. Most non Zerg players will hate you for using this tactic.

Although this Zerg strategy appears very simple at first glance it has some fine points to it. Ignore these and you won’t get far with it.

Because you are going for a quick attack with your zerglings you are making some sacrifices to your home base defenses and your economy. If you don’t get the most out of your zerg rush you are left in a very vulnerable position. You must have a fall back plan or you may wind up looking like a total dork.

This starcraft 2 zerg strategy should be viewed as a way to damage your enemies economy early in the game to give you an edge. But you don’t want to just send your zerglings blindly rushing into the enemy base trying to take out the supply line. The basic worker units, Drones, Probes and SCV’s can easily kill zerglings so you need to have control over your zergling army. Don’t let them get surrounded.

Terran players usually block off their base and turn turtle. Break through the choke point, watch out for Marines and take them out. Remember hit and run. Take out units that can hurt you. Then cut off the money tree.

If a Protoss opponent gets a few Zealots out then you better start rethinking things and fall back to plan B. Maybe more of a harassing tactic to mess with their head. All the while popping more zerglings for a steady zerg rush of six at a time. If you can take out the Zealots then work on the Pylon that is powering the Gateway. Then destroy their supply line.

When facing a Zerg player you will most likely be battling Zerglings but you will need to scout. Get the Speedling upgrade as soon as possible to get the advantage.

If your Zerg rush is a success be ready for some abuse. Your opponent will probably be pissed at you for spoiling their fun. Don’t worry if at the beginning of the game they try to set a bunch of time limit, no rush BS. Just rush any way. You’re there to win. The races are evenly balanced overall and the Zerg have an early game advantage. Use it. Be aware that you will be exposing yourself to attack by having a weaker base and economy at first. All’s fair in love and war and the Zerg got no love.

Starcraft 2 Guide-A Guide to Starcraft 2

Starcraft 2 Guide – A Guide to Starcraft 2
By Johnny Z Scarelli

The game of Starcraft 2 is a particularly challenging game of warfare between players.

Of course I am talking only about the online portion of the game.

A Starcraft 2 guide should take you through what it means to be a Starcraft 2 player.

Becoming a Starcraft 2 player means firstly learning about the three different races. These races are the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg.

The Protoss are the most futuristic of the races. They can warp in buildings without any need to leave a worker at the site of the building, a respectable perk.

The Zerg are the most animalistic of the races, which doesn’t mean they are weak in the slightest. Giant towering monsters or massive amounts of mini monsters will wreak havoc on opponents. Zerg actually lose a worker when they build a buildling, this makes Zerg oftentimes a more difficult choice for starting players, well this and a few other things.

The Terran are the most reliable of the races being that they can do just about anything. They build fortified structures and a huge assortment of units, while not the quickest race they have the most options. Terran need to leave a worker wherever they are building a building, but they don’t lose the worker like the Zerg.

So all three races build buildings in different ways.

It is also important to note that Zerg can only build their buildings on what is called Creep, a dark substance that spreads and grows from where they are originally located. Gives their units a speed boost and I believe a slight regeneration boost.

The Protoss can only build their buildings in power fields created by a particular building, the Pylon, which can be built anywhere.

Terran can build a building on any flat uncovered land at any time, so long as it isn’t covered in Creep. A reason why a lot of new players lean towards Terran.

What I’ve covered is just the basics, strategy is a whole new topic. I haven’t even covered the units, the only way to really learn this game quickly is to play. As you play supplement your learning with videos, tutorials, commentaries, and replays.

Start with a race, it really doesn’t make a difference which. Pick the one you think look and feel the best, and go from there. You’ll quickly discoverer where you fit into the Starcraft 2 universe and pretty soon you’ll be comfortable going random in the Diamond league.

Now pay attention to this - Look I’ve been down that road where I needed to pick a Starcraft 2 strategy guide too. I wanted to beat my friends, I wanted to be a Diamond level player and I wanted to do it fast. I purchased all of the guides, I went through all of them! Then for the sake of sharing what I know, I went ahead and reviewed them all.

So if you want to know before you buy (or consider), here are my Starcraft 2 strategy guide reviews.
