Stop Wasting Time With Those Clay Poker Chips and Get Fit

Every overweight person has a million reasons why they can’t get fit and lose weight. Well it’s time to stop wasting valuable time making excuses or playing with those clay poker chips and drinking beer with your buddies. Instead you’ve to get up and start doing something for your health. To lose weight and get in shape you’re going to have to make some sacrifices and major lifestyle changes but you won’t regret it once you see the final result. Follow my tips and you’ll at least have the basics down and you’ll be primed for change.

First you must overhaul your current diet. This means no more McDonalds or massive bowls of pasta. Go to mypyramid.gov for helpful suggestions if you aren’t sure where to start. In general your diet should consist of nutritious foods that are low in calories in fat. You should eat plenty of fruit such as apples, pears and berries which contain antioxidants and fiber. Vegetables should also be plentiful in your new diet. Whole grains are also essential as they help to regulate your blood sugar levels which will help to stave off binge eating. Lean proteins should be a staple item as well.

Once you’ve mentally prepared yourself for your change in diet, you will have to start exercising as well. Take it easy at first if its been a long time since you’ve done any form of physical activity. You may even want to speak with you doctor before starting a new exercise regimen. But in general, for significant weight-loss you will need to workout five days per week for 45 minutes to an hour of cardio. You will also want to alternate days of weightlifting as well. Anaerobic exercise will not only give you more defined muscles, it will increase the strength of your bones.

When you add lean muscle to your body you’ll be literally turning your body into a fat burning machine!

Let’s say that you were eating the amount of calories that allow you to maintain your current bodyweight, but began to add lean muscle to your body through proper resistance training…you’ll need to use some of those calories you’re eating to feed the new muscle, creating a calorie deficit in your body.

Fad diets, they all have one thing in common.  They’re diets.  They are like a pair of bell bottom pants.  They are in for a couple of years and they’re gone.  Then they find they’re way back just when the fitness professionals know we are ready to eat ‘em up again…no pun intended.  When you’re trying to burn fat, you really should avoid these things like the plague.
