At least that&#8217;s the way it works for most individuals. There are always the lucky few who react to stress by losing weight. They just can&#8217;t seem to eat anything. Or in some cases&#8230;everything they eat seems to just disappear like magic. They drop chunks of weight because they are stressed out.</p><p>But I would say that the majority of people who deal with stress or frustration or depression (mild or severe) or just basic fear would say that their weight gain is an indication of a time when things weren&#8217;t great. </p><p>In response to one particular long and stressful deployment my sister&#8217;s weight had gone up more than normal. Her husband was in a dangerous region. He was leading missions he wasn&#8217;t allowed to talk about. He wasn&#8217;t able to keep in daily contact because it wasn&#8217;t safe.
